Monterey Donuts is a great place for anyone craving a sweet snack. The donuts are incredibly tasty and have a good variety of options. I love that they offer unique flavors that you don't find everywhere else. My only complaint is the prices, which are a little higher than expected, but the quality is definitely there.

I've been a fan of Monterey donuts since they first opened...and in fact, I was their first customer. Had my photo on thier and it was on the wall for several years. But I digress. Anyway, I think the donuts here are simply better than anywhere else, even the long established Monterey area favorite...which I won't call out...and in truth has good donuts, just not great donuts. The donuts at Monterey donuts are always more tender, more flavorful, flaky, cakes, less greasy, you name it, they're just the best. Now, they've recently moved into a space next door to thier original spot. It's smaller now, in terms of customer space...so the selection isn't quite as big as before, but they've still got all the variety you can want of regular, fancy, cake, glazed...you name it. But the really exciting part of thier change is they've expanded into breakfast sandwiches...and coffee offerings. The breakfast Bagels and croissants are especially delicious...so give them a try and grab a dozen donuts to go! Also, the staff here at Monterey donuts is always great...kind, helpful, pleasant.

Love love love this place! They have some of the best donuts in town! I got a dozen donuts this morning. It was surprised at the price, however, I haven't bought a dozen donuts at least a couple years and I know prices have gone up. The service is always great here and they always throw in a few donut holes, which is nice. Love how clean this place is also

I stopped in here while visiting the area. The place is small and they only accept cash for (I believe) anything under 5 dollars. We were celebrating my dad's birthday that morning so I purchased a few donut holes and a cinnamon roll. They were both good but not great and a little dry. Service was fine.

The Mayan Mocha iced is unbelievably good. I also got a donut, and the server was very friendly. She offered to add filling in it since that's what I was looking for!

Thank you yelp for this gem. Absolutely delicious. Donuts are fantastic. Iced lavender latte and honeydew milk tea are both good. Ham and cheese croissant wasn't hot enough but staff was able to toast them longer. It was very busy for a Monday morning so come with time and patience. Staff was friendly.

We were visiting Monterey and wanted tea and coffee and found this place on Yelp. Decided to get some donuts as well. They also have breakfast sandwiches (menu attached) Ambiance: It is a very small place and they have a few tables. My suggestion is to get your food to go. Food: We ordered donuts (pics attached) - 2 chocolate raised, 1 maple raised and 1 jelly glazed. Also ordered 2 glazed raised donuts (sorry, no pic). These are probably some of the best donuts I've ever tasted. We also ordered two iced coffees (really good) and a hot tea. Not a great tea selection so don't recommend. Logistics: you stand in line, order, pay for and receive your order at the register. It was really slow. When it was finally our turn, she boxed up our donuts and set them to the side and said nothing else. We finally had to ask about our donuts, tea and coffees. It appeared as though she completely forgot. I'm giving this place 4 stars because the donuts are great but docking it a star because of the logistics.
